Area of the month - Bushey

News at Harry Charles | 21/04/2023

This month, we explore the leafy area of Bushey in South Hertfordshire.  A very sought after neighbourhood, ideal for all walks of life including young professionals, families and retirees. It is a historic and quiet suburb, with both countryside and urban living right on the doorstep, offering plenty of duality. It also has excellent means of travel, with Bushey station offering a direct train line that takes only 9 minutes to Watford Junction or the tube line that goes straight into Euston, the heart of London.

For those that like shopping in bulk there is a large Costco located conveniently on the A41 in Bushey, together with a Sainsbury, Tesco close by. The Watford Intu shopping centre also houses most high street stores. Meaning shopping of almost all kinds, particularly food shopping is covered efficiently without much travel.

There are plenty of fabulous and highly recognised schools within Bushey, or within catchment of Bushey, including both Primary and Secondary age, many rated as “Outstanding” by Ofsted. And Aldenham and St Margarets Co-ed private schools.

Bushey Rose Garden is just on the High Street, and a brilliant day out for the family that offers over 4,000 different kinds of plants, and preserves a historic Victorian feel, it is particularly pleasant in spring and summer months.

The King Stag is a great reason to visit Bushey. The family run gastro pub focuses on bringing people together with locally sourced, high-quality food and an impressive selection of drinks, all served by friendly and professional staff, located in the heart of Bushey Village, meaning it is surrounded by other pubs of all manner within immediate walking distance.

It is no wonder why Bushey is such a popular place to live!
