Cassiobury Park
This month Harry Charles explores the area of Cassiobury. This sophisticated semi-urban area offers an variety of facilities that contributes to the ease of living here. It is walking distance to the popular Watford Highstreet and shopping centre known as Atria Watford, as well as it only being a 2-minute drive.   

The Cassiobury estate is conveniently located right next to Watford Station, which you will find on the Metropolitan line. This tube line takes you directly into central London as well as other popular areas such as Wembley.

The leafy estate is home to Cassiobury Tennis club with 6 courts, and won club of the year in 2021. Fullerians Rugby Club, which Harry Charles proudly sponsors,  West Herts Hockey Club and Sun Sports Football Club. There is also West Herts Golf club opposite the park or The Grove Health Spa 2 minutes from the estate.

This exclusive area also offers many outstanding school choices from Watford Grammer School for Boys and Watford Grammer School for Girls, as well as valued primary schools such as Cassiobury Infants and Nursery School and Cassiobury Junior school. Whilst York House Prep School and The Royal Masonic private schools are within close distance.

The Cassiobury area is fondly known for the wonderful green open space – Cassiobury Park, which is the most perfect place for long walks and also great for children as there is a huge play park and water splash area. Along the Grand Union canal, there is the floating Canal festival that regularly stops off allowing people to purchase some unique home-made produce as well as being able to get a coffee from Molly’s Floating Café which has become quite popular due to its unique experience. The park also hosts Park Run each Saturday and Cancer Research’s Race for Life.

In the winter, Cassiobury Park hosts one of Hertfordshire’s biggest firework displays which draws a crowd of thousands of people. On a regular basis the park has something for everyone to enjoy as there is a bowls club located in this lovely setting. The bandstand is also a spot that gathers in crowds as they often host events such as Jiveswing and much more!

The Essex Arms is a classic pub located on the Cassiobury Estate that offers pub food and drink with the option of indoor or outdoor seating area. Opposite the Essex Arms are a row of shops that offers a post office, café, greengrocers and a mini supermarket and hairdressers and nail bar. There is also a dentist and vets’ surgery for ease.
